Which is better an xD memory card or a SD memory disc for a digital cameras?

SD cards and xD cards are NOT interchangeable. There is not a standard card for all digital cameras. They are two specific types of memory cards. In addition to SD and xD cards, there are compact flash cards, and memory sticks (2 types).

If you are trying to fit a specific camera, refer to your owner's manual or take the camera with you to the store and the sales associate will be able to help you.

(I have several digital cameras. Most of them use SD cards, which tend to be the cheapest form of memory. My other digital camera uses the xD cards. I haven't noticed any difference in quality of the memory cards.) SD is also more common and is more likely to be available in the size you need. Finally, card readers for SD memory are more common and less expensive than card readers for xD memory.
