now.... And when the SD800 IS comes out, there will be the SD900 IS which will follow shortly after the SD800, then the SD1000, etc. etc. The SD700IS is a terrific camera. Certainly the extra pixels aren't worth waiting for...
However- there is one really wonderful thing tha Canon did to the SD800- they changed the lens so that it's a 28mm wide angle. Much more useful and definately worth waiting for, IMHO.
Or- you could save the money and just get the Panasonic FX01/FX07 or FX50, which already have a proven and really steller 28mm wide angle lens, Optical image stabilization, and nice packaging. The Canon is marginally better- but you really need to look close- and it costs a heck of a lot more. I would wait for the SD 800 IS......because it has a higher res LCD screen, a wider lens (28-105mm) and the new Digic III processor.
