How much does a digital camera usually cost?

ok so i've been wanting something big and that i can have for a long time that i will use over and over again! but i didnt know what that was! but if i'm gonna grow up to be this one thing then i definetly need a camera! so how much does a digital camera cost? if you can be detailed in your answer that would be really great! thanks so much! =)

it depends on what kind you get. go to the websites of best buy, circuit city, sears, staples, walmart, and other stores like that. they cost aney wear from 80$ to 1000$ and rember you get what you pay for There are lots of goo makes, but you need to know good and bad. BestBuy's cheapest is $120, so that's retty expensive stuff. But BestBuy is really good for buying from, theyare all good warrantys, and stuff like that. If you want a cheap one, you can buy a 4MP $60 one from Walmart and pay $20 for a SD card. That's what I did, but you might want a more expensive,and better one. I reccomend BestBuy. You can get ones from Walmart, but I doubt they're as good a BestBuy. It depends on what you need it for. I needed something that would take photos of needlework as well as scenery. I bought a Kodak EasyShare Z700 (zoom with 4 megapixels). At the time, it was just under $200. It's about $169 now. It sucks for action and night photography is limited. I'm very happy with it.

My brother bought a Cannon (sorry don't know model) that was around $550. His need was action and zoom. A cheap camera just won't do it.
