what is external memory on a digital camera camcorder?
we are looking at a digital camera camcorder to buy off ebay, in the next 20 mins. so i would appreciate if any body could answer this quistion quik! it says on the item description that no external memory is included what does that mean? and is there any memory at all on it? thanks x

I would imagine that it would come with at least some internal i.e built in memory , But you will probably need to expand it using an SD card or similar in order to record any significant length of movie onto it. if it is said "not included",then it means that the camera can support external memory but u have to buy it yourself;of course it has a memory,usually less than 32MB;for example my creative cam has 32MB internal memory, and I have added a 1GB external memory to it.good luck! A camera has a built in memory, but it only has a small capacity, maybe to take only 8 pictures. You can buy memory chips to slot in (external memory), and store 100 or more pictures on each card.
