an sd card is a type of storage memory card that is commonly seen on digital cameras. if you have a video camera that has a SD slot in it but a video tape or dvd is the main storage for it, then the SD card is just to put your pictures on whenever you take pictures with your camcorder. on the other hand, if your video camera is the one that uses SD cards to store the movies, i suggest you buy atleast 2 GB worth. the higher the number of GB, the longer you can take movies. An SD card is a small flash-based memory card (about the size of a postage stamp) that holds anywhere from 32MB up to 8GB these days.
