You can try taking a screenshot by hitting the printscreen button and then going to paint or another image program and clicking edit> paste and then save the image.
If that does not work you can open the video with windows movie maker and clicking the take picture button. If you're using Windows Media Player 10, go to Tools, Options, Performance, Advanced, uncheck Use Overlays (both of them).
Now pause the video on whatever you want to take a picture of, press the Printscreen key on your keyboard, and open up Paint, and paste the image. Yes! That's easy!!!
Install, if you haven't already, Power DVD.
While playing your video, you don't need to pause where you want an image taken, just click on the camera icon to get the shot taken.
Open Photoshop or like, New document, and click Ctrl+V.
Save with the name you want, extension JPEG.
