Which camcorder?
I want to get one for our RV trip this coming April (2007). I would like it to be HD, but it doesn't have to be seeing as they are very expense right now. I want it to record on the hard drive, so that I can just download it straight to my computer. And I do not want to deal with DVDs and tapes because there is going to be a lot of it (we are going to see the whole country). SO what kind is good? I have no idea where to even start. Any help would be great. Thanks!!

Seems like there is only one cam out there that fits your needs - the Sony DCR-SR100. It's a hard drive cam that has picture quality that is on par with the best DVD cam that Sony makes (505 or 5-0-something). The 30 gig drive will hold something like 7 to 14 hours of video. Not bad.

Hopefully they'll have a hard drive HD cam available soon. Hope this helps. try canon or sony brand, old models pricing are reasonable Go for Sony 405. It has dual storage , on DVD and memory stick. Sharp pictures, Night mode, Sony quality...its amazing . I have used it some days back and believe me it rocks. Wonderful Still pictures is one additional reason to go for it.
