Which Canon Digital Camcorder should I get? Suggestions?
I know I want a digital Canon....I love Canon's products, and I know I want it to record to DVD's, but not the miniDVD's .......I don't have any idea what models to even start looking at. I will be using it for like family gatherings and on the beach. I would very much appreciate any suggestions/references.

At present Canon has three models in DVD camcorders. have your video recording in DVD format. The advantage of DVD is that, its compact, re-recordable & can be directly edited by connecting with your computer.
To transfer the contents of the reocrded DVD to a blank DVD is quite easy and fast. DVD technology has more clariry, resolution, data safe protection, when compared with the other types of strorage devices. DVD camcorders has in additon, memory card slot provision, which makes it work as digital camera as well.
The current models in Canon DVD camcorders are:
Canon DC100
Canon DC40
Canon DC10 the 1 which u can record directly onto dvd WARNING! The one thing that Canon will not tell you is that even though information is recorded onto a DVD's, the lifespan of those DVD's is less than three years!!! DO NOT record digital to DVD-R's!!!!!!! Try to find one that records directly to a hard drive or flash drive.
Did you know that the lifespan of mini-tapes are longer than DVD-R's? Its true! Be careful where you put your money!
