When I try to copy from DV tape in camcorder to computer I get DEVICE NOT CONNECTED..but it is!!! He

Follow these steps:
*Restart your computer*
Step 1: Plug your camcorder into a powersource. (Plug the batter charger in just like you were charging the battery).
Step 2: Plug the 1394 cord into the camcorder port and the computer port.
Step 3: Turn on your camcorder to the "playback" mode. (The screen where you can play back your recorded videos, make sure you have the tape or CD in)
Step 4: Open up your video editing software on your computer and click capture video from device. Have you loaded the device drivers for the camcorder to the computer? Without device drivers the computer has no way to recognize the camcorder.
When connecting I would assume you do have the camcorder turned on??? Check to see if the camera is switched on and the correct drivers are loaded to detect the device. Switch the camcorder on to VCR mode. If it still doesn't work, restart the computer.
If still not detected, make sure the drivers are installed.
However, if you are using Windows XP the camera should be detected automatically if it is connected via firewire. I'm having the same f*ucking problem. What the f.uck do you mean my drivers? Do me a favor. Talk to me like I'm four...
