Thermal vision - Far infrared, or thermal, sensing is generally not considered night vision because it is constructed with mechanisms substantially different from the methods used to sense visible light. Night Vision can pick up thermal radiation Both are meant for same task

to view in dark None. both use infrared to "light" the image. however, some cameras call their low light function "night vision" and all that does is open up the aperture and slow down the shutter, but if it was totally dark, there wouldnt actually be an image. If it actually uses infrared, then it can record in total darkness. I dont know about thermal vision, i think its a different wavelength of infrared, and no consumer cameras out there offer this feature. Hope this helps!
