Im going to europe soon and need a DVD camcorder . I would like night vision and to be able to recharge in Europe as well as the US. What are my best options? Are there any other key points i should look for?And will i need some sort of adapter for Euro recharge?

I would reconsider your choice on a DVD camcorder - DVD camcorders are one of the most returned pieces of electronic equipment. DVD's are very unreliable as recording media.
Your best choice is to look at a MiniDV camcorder. I'd go with a Sony - they have the deepest product line and have been setting the standard in the market. I'm not completely sold on how long the DVD camcorder format is going to last. Unless I absolutely have to have the DVD format, I would stick to Mini-DV for now.
As far as having night vision and a multi-voltage power system, Sony is the only brand that has both. You will need to buy an adapter for the wall plug only. The Sony AC adapters and chargers work on any voltage from 100V to 250V, 50 or 60 cycles.
