What is the best budget/ entry level camcorder for videography business?

I am going into videography business with a very limited budget. Thus , I am looking for a camcorder that is functional and does not cost much.

As you are going into business, you might consider leasing the equipment. Canon GL2 is the best camera that is fairly cheap ($2000-2500) you can probably find a used Canon GL1 for $1500 or a used Canon XL1 for $1500. The Canon XL2 is one of the best models you can buy right now and it's $5000. What is your budget? What application are you using it for? Weddings? Training vid's? Commercials? Also, what is your budget? The GL2 is a great cam for weddings, but it will limit you a lot...and you would probably outgrow it quickly. The XL-2 is more of a broadcast, ENG (Electronic News Gathering), Documentary cam. It really depends on your budget, and what you are trying to accomplish.

No disrespect to you, or the person that answered-as the GL-2 and XL-2 are both great cam's in certain areas...but no one can give you a valid recommendation without knowing exactly what you want to do with it, and how much you want to spend.
