Video camera help (fire wire)?
Ok so i dont need help but im confused will using a fire wire to transfer video from a camera to a computer ruin the heads please explain

Firewire doesn't do anything to your heads. In fact, it's the most effective way to transfer video from your camcorder to your PC, aside from a direct video capture card. There are problems in the capture though, depending on what tasks your PC is handling as you're importing the video. Exit all applications except your video editing software, and make sure you turn the preview off. Your video will stay the most intact if you just have the camera running in realtime as you record to your PC. Then, edit afterwards. Shouldn't do, since usually it is simply playing the tape at the normal speed. You might want to be careful though if the software keeps stopping and starting the tape as it is downloading. If possible just let it run through in real-time and do the cutting of scenes on the computer later when it's all on the hard drive.
