Lithium Battery Recharging Questions. . . .?
Hey,
My Digital Camcorder needs to be recharged... I have some questions:
-am I suppose to wait until the battery is completely dead before I recharge (is it better for the battery that way?)
-Will it hurt the battery if I recharge the battery before it is completely dead?
-I am suppose to recharge for around 2 hrs...will it hurt the battery if it gets left plugged in longer than that?

Lithium batteries don't have whats called a memory affect. So if you charge it up, it will be fine. Its never really a good idea to leave the battery plugged in a really long time after its been charged, but if you don't take it out right at the two hour mark it won't hurt the battery. If you totally discharge and then charge a Lithium Ion battery once very six month it will increase its life expectancy. In between you can do partial recharges. If your charger is a new one leaving the battery on charge for longer periods will be taken care of by the charger circuitry.
