Does the Sony DCR-DVD106 Apple Mac compatible?
I bought it today, thinking i could edit my movies using iMovie. I come to put the disc in, and i realize my iMac wont accept the mini DVDs. Does anyone knwo of anything i can do, or if the camera is compatible with my MAC?
Answer:
The mini DVDs will not load if you mac computer has a slot for loading DVDs - you'll need to get an tray loading external DVD drive.
As for editing, iMovie will not edit the mpeg2 format from the mini DVD directly. You'll need to first convert it to DV format using a program such as Streamclip. Here's a discussion thread re: using iMovie to edit videos from DVD camcorders - http://www.camcorderinfo.com/bbs/t86520.
