Can you use a Sony camcorder with iMovie on a Mac?
I am a mac user and would like to purchase a Sony HDR-CX7 camcorder but dont think Sony is compatible with Macs. Is this true? Is there a work-around?

It does not look like it is compatible I found a list of compatible camcorders for iMovie on the Apple website that camcorder does not appear to be listed. i dont think so.. i could be wrong.. http://www.apple.com/macosx/upgrade/camc...

And Sony is totally compatible but... I don't think so. Look in your version of iMovies Help for supported video formats. I don't even think that the new iMovie '08 supports that format either.Depending on your version of iMovie HD you can either get a Sony camcorder that records to MiniDV cassettes in DV or HDV or HDD, DVD type camcorder if you have iMovie '08.
